Granite

Granite is a Plutonic igneous rock having visibly crystalline texture; generally composed of feldspar and mica and quartz

Granite has greater strength than sandstone, limestone, and marble and is correspondingly more difficult to quarry. Granite is the ultimate countertop material. Impervious to heat, easy to care for, the hardest stone on earth, it is available in hundreds of colors and can be used in the most demanding situations. Granite countertops will compliment any decor and all of our clients have the opportunity to view and approve all slabs being used in their installations.

Granite Flooring Applications

Granite can be used for all in-house and outdoor purposes. It is the hardest of the stones. It is durable, heat, UV, acids and crunch resistant. Granite is slightly porous and it can absorb liquids to some extend, that is why we always apply a special sillier to prevent this and protect our customers from any disappointment. Granite is the optimum material for countertops. It does not scratch easily, it is very strong, durable and long lasting. These features make granite the best choice for kitchens, however it may also be used in bathrooms and for fireplaces.

Marble

Marble gives any installation an elegant, romantic look, compromising strength and ease of care. Colors are virtually endless, from the purest white to coal-black, brilliant reds and vibrant greens - no two pieces are alike, each formed in the earth over millions of years until quarried, cut and polished for your personal use.

The surface of marble crumbles readily when exposed to a moist, acid atmosphere, but marble is durable in a dry atmosphere and when protected from rain. The purest form of marble is statuary marble, which is white with visible crystalline structure. The distinctive luster of statuary marble is caused by light penetrating a short distance into the stone and then being reflected from the surfaces of inner crystals.

Marble Flooring Applications

Marble can be successfully used for all low traffic in-house application like vanities and fireplaces or walls. It is favorable stone for it's beauty and design but it is softer than granite and less challenging for braking, acids and liquid absorption. All Granite and Marble Corporation always apply a special sillier to prevent any penetration of surface and we advice our customers to repeat this treatment after few years.

Limestone

Not all limestones are created equal. Some limestones are very soft and porous, not suitable for uses a floor tile, while others are extremely hard and dense, and can be used on heavy traffic commercial floors.
